No new rats since last Sunday...but let me tell you how bad our trash smelled when I took it out yesterday morning. S O B A D

You know what it smells like when a mouse dies in the walls or in the radiator or anywhere you can't get to it...? It's like that smell only 4 times as big. And times 4 rats. 16 TIMES THE SMELL!!! MATH!!!

It's really not the type of smell that you want to be smelling at 8 in the morning after you accidentally drank an entire pitcher of margaritas (each) with Marilyn the night before...but we sure did kill the shit out of those rats. That part was awesome.

Bloody Sunday

Sue and I had a really exciting evening...we watched 1 million episodes of Prison Break (ASS HOOOOLE) and killed two more rats. #9 and 10. We put some Easter Jesus ham in the traps...they REALLY liked it.

Sue trapped this one then shot it 3 times..you know, just to make sure that it was super dead.

I caught this one. It's way easier to shoot them once they have their head caught in a trap (and mostly dead anyways). What you can't see in the photo is that Rat #10 is FOAMING AT THE MOUTH. It was pretty gross/awesome/really gross.

We did catch another rat in between these two- it really looked dead but when we got closer for the kill shot it jump-flipped out of the trap and ran away...bummer.

Boys Killing Rats

We had a yard party on Saturday...Ryan came over and shot some rats. I secondary-shot one of them (after Ryan already killed it. Moving targets are hard to shoot.)

Fence Rat

My exterminator at work gave me some secret rat poison. I don't know if it works, but the trap that we put in the rat hole absolutly did.

Rat Update. Rupdate?

Sorry faithful readers (ok, really just Sue) but I think we killed all of our yard rats in those first 3 days. I was really looking forward future posts and rat carcasses. The good news is that I think there are some fence rats, I will try to catch the fence rats. Maybe they'll like S'mores.

Manwich.........

So apparently rats really like Manwich...we caught two more on Tuesday night. (Also apparently, "Manwich" has a completely different meaning in some circles...just ask Joel)

Big talks tonight about what to do with our F I V E rat carcasses...my favorite idea is buying a dermestidae beetle colony off of the interwebz to eat the rat flesh(not Domestic Beatles, I've learned) and building tiny rat-sized dino skeletons out of their bones. Or just putting their tiny rat skulls on the fence posts.

Monday 1 Maybe. He dragged the trap into the rat hole, we'll pull it out tomorrow and see if he's still attached!

So far the rats like peanut butter and cat food best. Next we'll try Manwich and marshmallows. Picture of Saturday rats will be up tomorrow, if not blame Sue.

Tomcat Rat Snap Trap

This is a big trap. A big SNAP trap. We're really hoping that we catch a rat for the buyers that are coming tomorrow morning.
